How We Approach Commercial Solar

Cleanly finished solar panel array on a Perth commercial rooftop.

Sized to How You Use Power

We start with your actual load profile, not a generic sizing rule. Reviewing interval data and when your business draws power tells us how much output you can use on site versus export. If most of your load is daytime, a larger system usually pays back faster; if you trade mainly outside daylight, a smaller system sized to self-use often makes more sense than one built to fill the roof. It helps to have a recent bill and, if your retailer can supply it, interval or smart-meter data ready.

Roof, Switchboard and Network Fit

Commercial systems depend on details a quick quote can miss. We check roof structure and sheet type, switchboard capacity and the network approval your connection size needs in WA. If the roof can't take the load or faces the wrong way, a ground-mount or a split layout may suit better. If the switchboard is near capacity, an upgrade or an export limit may be needed, which affects both cost and size. Flagging these early means a design that can actually be built and energised.

Working Around Your Trading

A warehouse, office or production site still has to run while panels go on the roof. We plan the work around your operating hours and access so disruption to trading is kept low, though it's rarely zero. We agree staging, delivery and roof access with you up front so your day keeps moving while the crew works. You can see our full range of services for how each type of site is handled.

Our Commercial Solar Process

Site and Energy Assessment

We review your energy data, inspect the roof or ground area, and check the switchboard and metering before anything is designed. An assessment often finds things like limited switchboard headroom, shading from plant or parapets, or a roof orientation that shapes the layout. A site visit typically takes a few hours, and this stage grounds the proposal in what the site can realistically support.

Design and Approvals

We prepare a design suited to your load and roof, then lodge the network connection application. In WA this approval can take weeks and, for larger connections, longer or with conditions such as an export limit, so it is often the step that sets your timeline rather than the install itself. We explain where your project sits and keep you updated on progress.

Installation With Minimal Disruption

Once approved, installation is scheduled around your trading, with safe access, protected areas and tidy practices throughout. A typical commercial roof install runs over several days depending on size and access. Connecting at the switchboard needs a short power isolation, which we plan for a quiet period and tell you in advance how long to expect to be off.

Commissioning and Monitoring

We test the array, inverters and connection, confirm the system is generating and communicating, and set up monitoring so you can track generation over time. At handover we walk you through the portal, what normal output looks like, and who to contact if a fault flag appears. We also hand over the documentation you’ll want on file, so you know what was installed and how it performs day to day.

What Perth Businesses Say

Feedback from Perth businesses we've worked with, covering how the assessment, approvals and install went in practice.
Engaged these guys for a solar install at our cold storage business out in Kewdale. They clearly understood the demands of a high-consumption operation and designed the system around our peak loads. The engineers were patient explaining the technical side and the installers left the roof spotless. Follow-up support has been excellent too - they checked in after commissioning to make sure everything was performing as expected. Would recommend to any Perth business looking at commercial solar.

Radiant Commercial Solar sorted out a rooftop system for our manufacturing facility in Welshpool. What impressed me most was the detailed energy consumption review they did before recommending anything - no pushy sales tactics, just honest advice about what would actually suit our usage. The monitoring portal they set up lets us track generation in real time, which the accounts team loves. Clean workmanship and good communication throughout.

We had a 100kW system installed across the roof of our warehouse in Canning Vale and the whole process was smoother than expected. The team did a thorough site assessment first, walked us through the panel layout and shading analysis, then handled all the Western Power paperwork. Installation was tidy and the crew worked around our operating hours so we didn't lose production time. A few months in and the savings on our daytime load are already noticeable. Really happy with how professional the whole experience was.
